Alanya Ultra Trail is an organization that brings history, culture and sports together in the same pot. It has been held since March 2017. It is organized with the slogan "To the Peak of the Taurus in the Footsteps of the Yoruks". The international marathon takes the athletes on a city tour where they will discover new places and witness the richness of Alanya with its pleasant tracks suitable for every difficulty level.
The philosophy of the start of the marathon is the great similarities between the Yörüks and the ultra-marathon runners... The Yoruks have lived as nomads for centuries, do not take any burdens with them other than a few items necessary to continue their daily lives, whose main purpose is to survive and to reach the resources to feed their animals, are fond of their freedom, strong and struggling people. On the one hand, Yörüks struggle with the harsh weather conditions of winter and summer months and integrate with nature with their lifestyles. They are very similar to marathon athletes in their challenging aspects, pushing the limits and overcoming obstacles.
Combining the lifestyles of the nomads with the philosophy of life of ultra-marathoners, Alanya Ultra Trail takes the racers on a magnificent journey, accompanied by ancient ruins, city walls, historical caravans and migration routes, challenging paths, villages, banana groves and marvelous landscapes.
In the event, there are stages at different levels according to the preference of each athlete, including the 76 km Alanya Ultra Trail, the 48 km Taurus Mountain Marathon, the 28 km Keykubat Mountain Run and the 15K Alaiye Stage. While marathoners spend a day full of joy, excitement and adventure, they also witness the unique beauties around them closely, climb up from the coast to the high hills and experience four seasons in one day.
