Patara Ancient City was declared a 'Tourism Theme' by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2020 and 2021 and continued to be frequented by visitors. In August of this year, 95 thousand 38 people visited Patara and left an income of 4 million 203 thousand liras. The revenue obtained from the ancient city, which 104 thousand 182 people visited in the same period last year, was 2 million 567 thousand 32 liras. In 8 months this year, 270 thousand 759 people visited the ancient city of Patara, and in return, 9 million 243 thousand 900 liras were earned. In the same period of last year, 289 thousand 502 people visited the ancient city, and the income obtained from the ancient city was 4 million 389 thousand 224 liras.
In August of this year, 12 thousand 302 people visited the Xanthos Ancient City, one of the 19 historical monuments on Turkey's UNESCO Cultural Heritage List, and in return, 125 thousand 250 liras were earned. Due to fire hazards, Xanthos Ancient City was closed to visitors in August last year. While 37 thousand 946 people visited the Xanthos Ancient City in 8 months of this year, the income provided in return was 371 thousand 260 liras.
A total of 107 thousand 340 people visited these two ruins in Kas in August, and a revenue of 4 million 328 thousand 25 liras was provided in return.
