The municipalities of Kaş jointly organize the Lycian-Kas Culture and Art Festival. It is one of the cutest holiday destinations in Antalya, and its sister city, Meis Island, has been held in June every year since 1997.
The festival brings together cultures with similarities and differences, strengthening the feelings of neighbourliness, reinforcing the feelings of peace, friendship and brotherhood, and making the Kaş district known by wider masses in Turkey and the world. It is visited by local and foreign tourists and the residents of Kaş.
The festival brings a completely different vitality to the always energetic and lively atmosphere of Kaş district. The Lycian-Kaş Culture and Art Festival, traditional cortege, concerts, dance and folklore performances, fashion shows, Kaş – Meis food competition, photography, handicrafts and painting exhibitions, theater and short shows. It offers a full program to the participants with activities such as movie screenings. The festival's most anticipated event is where enthusiastic and joyful moments are experienced. The swimming races held between Kaş and Meis Island are where many athletes line up to participate. In this fierce struggle, the contestants jump into the cool waters and swim for friendship, exerting all their strength to reach the target at a distance of approximately 7 km.
The Lycian-Kaş Culture and Art Festival has become the tradition of the Kaş district. It increases the tourism diversity of Kaş, which is a center of attraction with its deep blue clear sea, world-famous beaches, cool plateaus, bustling bazaar, cultural texture and ancient cities.
