Alakır Dam is 13 km north of Kumluca district on Alakır Stream. The dam receives heavy rainfall during irrigation and spring months to control the flood events in the region. It is 44 meters high from the river. The dam, which is a rock body fill type, provides irrigation service to 3,262 hectares.
There are camping and picnic areas around the dam, open for touristic visits. Surrounded by hills covered with forests, the dam offers visitors the opportunity to be alone with nature. The district residents frequently prefer the dam area to spend quiet and peaceful hours on weekends.
