Korsan Cave

In the west of Antalya's Demre district, at the southern point of Aşirlı Island within the borders of the Kekova Region, the Korsan Cave can only be reached by boat. The cave is one of the most preferred tour routes of many excursion boats with its attractive appearance. When the boats take a break in front of the Pirate Cave, many people have the chance to swim inside the cave, experience this wonderful atmosphere and see the cave's formations more closely.

The cave, which is very popular in terms of tourism, was rumored to have been used as a hiding place by pirates in ancient times. That is why it is called the 'Pirate Cave'.

The entrance part of the cave is bigger than it looks. There are no karstic formations in the cave, with branches that do not go too deep and have pebbly shores at the ends of these branches. Since the cave walls have very soft lines, it gives the impression of being a cave of abrasion.

Although it is said that the Pirate Cave is suitable for the shelter of Mediterranean Seals in terms of its width, it is thought that it is not used by seals today since there is heavy visitor traffic around the cave.
