Dim Cave, 11 km from Alanya, is on the western slope of Cebel-i Reis Mountain east of Alanya. Since its opening in 1998, the cave has contributed to the tourism diversity of the region. It is Turkey's second-largest cave opened to visitors.
It is said that a part of the karst-formed cave is estimated to be one million years old. It was used as a living space in prehistoric and post-historical times and used as a goat shelter before being opened to tourism.
There are two branches inside the cave, 232 meters above sea level, approximately 400 meters long, 10-15 meters wide and high. At the entrance, the section on the right is 50 meters long, and the section on the left is approximately 350 meters long. The cave consists of 4 galleries, namely Hall with Chandeliers, Lake Hall, Organ Hall and Pamukkale Hall. There is a cute lake, approximately 200 square meters in size, 17 meters deeper than the entrance in the last part.
Thanks to the diversity and abundance of stalactites, stalagmites, columns, curtain macaroni and travertine formations in it, the rich formations of Dim Cave, which is known as one of the most beautiful caves in Turkey, offer an eye-catching visuality to its visitors. The cave, which can be visited thanks to the comfortable arrangement inside, creates an atmosphere that resembles movie sets with natural beauty.
The cave, which maintains its temperature of 18-19 degrees in summer and winter and can be visited at any time of the year, attracts great attention because its surroundings are covered with picnic places and pine trees. From the viewing terraces at the cave entrance, you can watch both the valley with Dim Stream and Alanya Castle from a bird's eye view.
