Beldibi Cave is in Obakoy Mevkii, just at the exit of the Camdag Tunnel, which is approximately 40 km from the Antalya-Kemer coastal road.
Beldibi Cave is a shelter under a rock at an altitude of 25 meters from the sea. It has been destroyed by natural means such as rain and wind, and the layers inside have largely disappeared.
As a result of the examinations carried out in the cave, which was an essential prehistoric center where traces of ancient times can be seen, six layers were found reflecting the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and transitional phases from Mesolithic to Neolithic. The 4th, 5th and 6th layers of these layers are dated to the Upper Paleolithic Period. During the excavations, tools made of flint, knives, arrowheads, sickles, shells of sea animals, potsherds and pottery belonging to the Upper Paleolithic and Mesolithic Periods were unearthed. There are pictures of wild goats, deer and humans on the shelter walls under the rock. The finds obtained suggest that hunter-gatherer communities lived in the cave.
Beldibi Cave is an archaeological site. It is a cave that is open to visitors today. Boat tours to the cave, which take attention with interesting atmosphere and formations, attract local and foreign tourists visiting the region.
