Lara Beach is one of the two most famous beaches of Antalya, along with Konyaaltı Beach. It is in the east, about 15 km from the city center. It is said that the name Lara means 'sand' in the Hittite language, and the word beach came into our language from Hittite.
The beach fascinates visitors with eye-catching coastline stretching for 2 km in the east-west direction and its nature surrounded by pine trees.
The beach, where Karpuzkaldıran Beach is on the west and Kundu and Kumköy Beach are on the east, is famous for its deep blue sea, warm waters, shallow depth and fine golden yellow sands, especially in the morning hours. For this reason, Lara Beach is also preferred for families with children and those who cannot feel confident about swimming.
The width of the coast in the north-south direction reaches 45 meters on average. There are points where the sands are pulled to the north by 150 meters in places. The sands and red pine trees that intertwine and integrate into these parts create unique images. While the coastal region of the beach is full of people who want to enjoy the sea, sand and sun, people who have picnics or camp with tents and caravans are often seen in the areas covered with red pine forests.
