Evdir Han was built by the Anatolian Seljuk Ruler I. İzzeddin Keykavus Bin Keyhusrev between 1210-1219. Evdir Han is in the Döşemealtı district, near Yeşilbayır Village, approximately 18 km northwest of Antalya.
Having a rectangular plan close to a square and showing symmetrical features, the building is particularly important. It is one of the two examples in Anatolia of the open courtyard, and four main iwan plan types are seen in Seljuk Period caravanserais. All the body walls are cut stone, and the upper cover is rubble. There are porticoes around the inner courtyard with hewn stones and pointed arches placed on thick-cut stone pillars. In closed spaces, cells open to the porticoes.
One of the most beautiful examples of Seljuk art, Evdir Han, has decorations on the crown gate, where marble is mostly used. Various geometric motifs can be seen in this part, which is almost completely decorated.
Although many of Evdir Han is in ruins, the northwest facade walls are still standing. With the mission of revitalizing the inn, which has been idle and neglected until today, Döşemealtı Municipality and Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts carry out a joint work. After the restoration works are completed, it is planned that the inn will host cultural events from its historical past. It is also among the targets to open a museum in Evdir Han.
