Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır City Museum

Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır is a thinker, commentator, philosopher, educator, writer, researcher, calligrapher, poet, lawyer. He was an enlightened religious scholar who lived in the last period of the Ottoman Empire and the first period of the Republic. He left his mark on his time with his views and teachings. It has been serving since 2013 to keep alive and promote the spiritual personality of Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır, who has many distinguished titles such as translator, intellectual and politician, and to transfer his legacy to future generations.
 
The museum's rich collection serves in a traditional Elmalı House known as the 'House of the Badaz people' and has been restored to its original form. Works describing the life of Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır, who was one of the last religious scholars of the period and enlightened society with his enormous wealth of knowledge are displayed.
 
While visiting the museum, visitors can get to know him more closely and get detailed information about his life by examining the works and objects of Muhammed Hamdi Yazır. He lived between 1878-1942 and is famous for his interpretation of "Hak Dini Kur'an Dini". The works and commentaries written by the great religious scholar and his personal belongings, such as the ministry's seal, wall clock, lighter, rosary, mirror, chess set, inkwell, including 16 original lines, are among the most valuable parts of the museum.
